That will work. What do you do to practice double bass?

Sounds like you've got a good practice plan workin' there...I would imagine to warm up on double bass, you would alternate your feet slowly, then faster (sort of like a single-stroke roll played with the feet?)

Keep it up, bro'!

Forgot to mention what a hand drummer like me does to practice! While I practice rudiments on the set, I also practice them on the congas and bongos. What has helped me the most is playing along with recordings. I don't attempt to copy what the percussionists are playing until I am more familiar with what they're doing. Instead, I concentrate on fitting my playing into what others are playing.

You can be a killer conguero, but if you're overplaying, it kills the work of your fellow musicians and it makes you sound like an amateur.

I usually give mine a roll starting from the snare and beat the high hats to get a sound mix, along with floor tom going to speed....or I just pop in a cd.
