unfortunatly...i didn't have the patients the prac when i was little so i didn't seriously start playing till i was like 17 and now im like 21 almost 22 so that's like yah 4-5 yrs....i wish i had started when i was little...i'de be like way way better

Im turning 40 this year and I still play like Im 25. I love hard rock and alternative music. But listen to all styles of music. Doing this will help with over all playing and not being one sides in music. I started at age 16

I started playing in 1982, then switched to congas and other percussion in 1996. Started playing a kit again in 2002.

I'm fifteen and have bn playin for 2 years now. It seems to be comin on just fine.

Since 1984...started lessons at age 32...and my only regret is I didn't start sooner! But I'm still having fun with them...and that's what drumming should be!

7 years of playing, but the first couple years kinda went to waste cuz when i was 5,6, and 7 i didnt really want to learn, and i did nothing right.. so i've pretty much been acctually "playing" the drums for 4 years, but taking lessons for 7. :icon_eek:

this is pretty off topic but it has to do with years playing and yeah the other day at my lesson my teacher asked what my other teacher taught me cause i have a new teacher now and i told him he didnt teach me much cept outa a book and he's like well we'll go back to the basics then because earlier he had just been teaching me songs and stuff like that and i was like ok i've only been playing for 6 months so thats fine and he was like wow i thought you've been playing for at least 2 years you had me fooled.... so yeah that made me feel somewhat good
