Ok. I recently purchased a Roc N' Soc throne for my kit. I can personally say that it is REALLY REALLY nice. Its turns smooth, is really comfy, and really helps when your playing those long gigs. i highly recommend this if you do a lot of gigs. it is a little pricy but in the long run you may find its worth it.

im not sure if this is the same roc n soc i want, but roc n soc makes a tractor throne with a hydrolic in it. Basically it would be like spring loaded. If you're banging on the foot pedal real hard most chairs would stay ridgid, this one will move with you. its costly though :) but supposedly the last one you'll ever buy.

I own a Roc N' Soc and they are awesome! My only complaint is that they are very bulky and heavy. :icon_cool:

Yep, I lug one around all the time. But it's one comfortable throne, so worth it to me. Mine is starting to creak a bit though......:icon_eek:

I have 3, two hydraulics and one manual. I love them. Best throne I've owned in 30+ years.

As usual Bish has more then me http://robertmdrums.com/emocons/wink.gif
I have 1 hydraulic and 1 standard Roc-N-Soc both with backs. I love them.
I have always said that the throne is the most important part of your kit. If your butt and back hurt you will not play well.

Amen, Mandlebaum. I have two Nitros, one with a backrest, and one without. They're going to have to come up with a throne that does Shiatzu massage for me to switch. For now, it's the best thing since crunchy peanut butter.

Believe me, Norske, if they make a throne that's any better, I'll be shouting its name from the hilltops.

I had 1 that went missing at a gig a cpl months ago.I went to my buds' drum store for a replacement and he tossed me a new Tama w/backrest for $50. It's nice but not as nice as the Roc N Soc.

I know man. I had all my cases stolen about 10 yrs ago while I was on stage and nobody saw a thing. Karma is a you know what. You'ld think other drummers/musicians would look out for each others stuff but I guess ya can't trust anyone while gigging.

I got mine for 50 bucks from a Sam Ash. The guy quoted me 50.00, then tried to charge me 90.00 because it had a backrest.
Nope. Didn't happen. He gave me a quote. Made me wait. He's eating this one. He got a nice commission on the kit I bought any how.
Edit: Plus I tipped him a 20.00 for helping me!

I went with the Lunar model. Really secure with the 5 legs, and doesn't bounce up and down even tho it's hydraulic. One of the best pieces of gear I've ever bought. Major increase in comfort and playing stamina.

I just got my new Roc & Soc 2 weeks ago and I love it. Very comfortable compared to the round throne I had before. Did not get the back rest for it as I thought why in the world would you need one as I never lean back when I play enough to rest on one. Over all it is the best out there.:punk::clap:

I've been using the Roc N Soc with nitro lunar throne for over 5 years and it's been so solid and comfortable. I added a back rest after using the throne through the 1st year of ownership and I'm glad I made the investment. It's good to lean back and rest a bit on the last set of 3 hours of playing.

I know this is a roc n soc thread but I have the Tama bike seat + back rest and it has changed the joy of playing(comfort zone). I have not had the pleasure of sitting in a roc n soc throne. Deffinitly prefer the bigger seat of the ones that come with most kits

Hey FT, I have the TAMA First Chair which is BY FAR the best one I've owned. Which model do you have?
I may upgrade to something a bit more plush in the future though. The TAMA is rock solid and pretty comfortable, but after a couple of hours I am a bit less than comfortable. The padding is on the firm side (the throne's; not mine!).

The back rest is 1st chair(after market) The throne is also 1st chair w/ the tribal stitching across the back. amazingly soft and comfy. It came with the superstar/SKB case deal I got.
