Just a couple of new projected works-in-progress of what I've been up too lately. Various genre's and a couple of Open Mic unrehearsed "Live" takes on Hendrix's "All Along The Watchtower" and "Little Wing" where I use an old 28" Leedy kick and 1970 Rogers oversize toms that was the house band guys, some cool old drums... The other 4 songs with some studio Tama's....a couple of tunes on electric drums...old Rolands I think...once I got past the rubber cymbals and hi-hat, I got kind of comfy with 'em......:)
But I'm an acoustic drum lover all the way! :)

Hey thanks pastor, coming from you that means a lot! I love playing!
Yes, long time no see!
Been busy getting ready for the move to Nashville in June/July. God is wonderful!
The Bluebird. That was a couple of months ago on my 58th Bday. My wife and I were there for a little over a week. We went house hunting, visiting her cousin in Knoxville, getting together with Steve and his wife, some studio jamming, and hanging out at The Bluebird Cafe. Steve is my best friend and the bassist on the tune "Quiddich Ball" on my Myspace compilation song list, and he is the MC at The Bluebird Cafe on Sunday and Monday nights. He usually plays a couple of his original songs on these nights and if we want to showcase something we can. He's very talented and gifted and has made a name for himself as a great songwriter/player/studio owner/recording engineer in Nashville, and he's a great MC. Lots of famous writers and musicians play/frequent the place and showcases for new talent happens on Sunday and Monday nights so it's "Steve At Work"...and he's good at it! I met some fine writers and musicians. And I got VIP treatment on my Bday. Me and my wife had the best seats in the house and Steve went around saying hi to folks and introducing me to other players. On most of the evenings after a day of house hunting/visiting, etc, I jammed with him and Rick in his studio with all kinds of players. All kinds of music. Wonderful Bday trip. I can't wait to get my Ludwigs set up in the studio, and my Tama's in the jam room in the new house.
Steve also plays bass on the first four tracks on my compilation song list and we used his studio in Nashville to play these with the guitarist Rick. Rick is another long-time friend and he's relocating to Nashville also....so the plan is to get this new project going, find a lead vocalist, add some keys maybe. Rick and I did the two Jimi tunes on these recordings "Live" at an open mike in LA. We figured we'd do a couple of Jimi's jams and we had a blast. The regular house band wasn't too happy, but the club owner requested we do "All Along The Watchtower". Well, I know Rick. That's why on my Myspace it's 6+ minutes long! LOL. The house guys drums I played on that tune and "Little Wing"? The bass drum was an old 28" Ludwig/Leedy, cool drums! So getting together for my Bday at Steve's studio, the two MC nights at The Bluebird, finding a new house, jamming with him and Rick, putting a new project together with a chance of success, all this occurring now....I have to say with much conviction, pastor, that God works in wonderfully mysterious ways!
They're building our new house about 10 minutes from Steve's studio, so I guess I have a day job now..lol. He says he's going to 'rent me out' to other musicians...LOL..says any jobs I get, live or studio, I have to pay him half......crazy nut!....:).....I told him "Uh-uh...No way son! You only get a third when I play live!"
My mom passed recently. Shortly after she left this earth my sister found a great job after 7 month's hard searching, her daughter found a great job, my daughter Rachael found her dream job working as a film directors assistant, me and Barb are moving to Nashville, the new project awaits...
Looks like mom's not resting in peace, she's bending God's ear! :)
So perhaps my little brother was correct. Right after I read my eulogy to the family, friends, and the rest of St. Mary's Catholic church's congregation in Minneapolis last month, Damian came up to me and whispered in my ear "Stephen, you watch, Mom is going to start bending God's ear to send some miracles our way!"
You know, the kid just might have a point......
Some of our office design work and Rachael's vids. We only design eye doctors offices. My daughter works for us and films the work and the interviews with my wife and the Dr. when we do a 'before and after' on these building projects. Most of our clients are located in the south, the mid-west and the east coast...yet another excellent reason for our move to Nashville.

Our new Nashville TN house being built. The framing for the ground floor and about 1/3 of the second floor is shaping up! This photo was taken less than a week ago.

Stephan, I am sorry to hear about your mother's passing, it sounds like the family has it in perspective pretty well. Of course, that is not to say that she isn't missed. It sounds like a real special time in the life of your family, and how wonderful that your mom is still at the center of it.
