i cant stand the sound my drums make, but its not because of the drums its cause im in my basement and the floor is concrete, the walls are just drywall i think, and the ceiling are vanalation pipes for the whole house, which makes really loud anoying echos

Its been pissen me off is there anyway i could fix this?

Something to increase the surface area of your walls will stop the reverb and echo. Carpet or egg cartons would be your best bet.

I don't know how you could fix your echos from the ventilation pipes though.

Hope this helps,

Foam is your friend. any type of foam, any where, will make the room sound better. The only way to get the ringing out of the pipes is to insulate them.

I feel your pain. I practice in a 12x12, it sounds like ****. I move into a large hall and the sound is extraodinary with no tuning change whatsoever. If you don't want to egg-crate, the only suggestion is wearing those full-cover ear muffs. They make the toms ring out and it doesn't sound so bad...ghetto!

Word of caution, egg cartons are way flammable. If you use them, make sure you don't also have incadescent light bulbs where they can make contact. The last thing you want is your insurance agent coming over to investigate a fire, only to find you doing trampoline archery while your pitbulls play with the neighbor's toddler.

Oh, yeah. It's the next big thing.

...actually, we have a trampoline that isn't set up. If I could find a cheap bow...

Seriously, how long will it be before somebody post a pic of trampoline archery in here?

...oh, wait...I think I'm about to get the sniper treatment for turning this thread into a silly rant...

Sorry, drummer!!
