Ok...I now own this beauty...waiting on delivery. Now am up to 3 vintage sets..what am I doing?? hahaha
Do you know what year that is? It looks like it has the same hardware as mine, though I cannot zoom the photo to get a better look. Mine's 1968
Really nice kit. Looks to be late 60's, I'm guessing it's a Dayton kit?
Post some more pics when you actually get it!
Seller told me 69'...according to tags inside....looks to be. I have since added a powertone snare to match...my wife is going nutz. Attachment 14074
VOILA!!!!
nice
all the best...
thanks Kay-gee...this set of course will not leave my house...simply for playing and practicing.
well...bought another set...my wife is going crazy...I was the one who picked up the Champagne Sparkle set off Ebay. Now to get to work and get them back in shape. Pics later.
Hey Hey Late 8...glad to hear from you...yea i know crazy for sure. that set is the exact set I had...( well short a 14" FT) way back in 1971..my first Rogers. I just had to re-kindle my relationship with it again. just an FYI i do spend lots of time on the Rogers FB group. but Still like to read posts here. later dude.
You're wife is going crazy, huh? Mine too. It's not fair. If my wife spent tons of money buying vintage drums, I wouldn't be the least bit upset. Women; you can't live with 'em, and you can't have you internet purchases shipped directly to your house....
funny you guys...yea..at first I set a small bid..then my wife saw the look in my face thinking how good it would be for me to get these...GREEN LITE..from the wife..BINGO
some here may be aware of a new release of a brand new Rogers Dynasonic wood snare drums. the Launch has been made! This new company has taken all the best engineering from the past and have re-created this drum with some modifications. Not sure of complete sets being built..but time will tell. Its a good thing for future drummers who have never owned a Rogers set.
Hey Guys. It's been a while since I've been here. Meanwhile I am trying to get back into drumming. It's tough after years off.
But I have a 1976+/- set of Rogers Londoner Five's. Black with a Dynasonic snare. They're all in good condition except for some minor scratches and pitting. I can polish them up and they look great. I even have the original (used) heads stashed away.
My thinking is I need a fresh start maybe to get back to drumming. IE: a new set. That (the financial investment) might be the kick I need to devote more time to playing. Or. Should I keep the Rogers? And play them at gigs? What are they worth?
well..with that year then you have the Memorloc hardware...very beefy for playing out...Rogers drums sound awesome..so unless you have the extra dough to layout for a new set...Play them!! I deliberately bought a 76' set for playing out...keeping my 69's safe at home.
Ok...Set number 4 is done. the refurbishing has been completed..now in love once again with a set so similar to my very first Rogers...it takes me back in time.Attachment 14429
Just bought a new Rogers BD pedal...called a Dyna-Matic. updated version of the old pedal..but made with new tech and it feels like the old one..but I feel...better!
Is this a brand new made in 2018 pedal or something old stock?
it's go the up facing spring on it.
I respect Rogers but everything is so old school and before my time I'm just not into it.
It's like I don't like collecting antiques either.
They are pretty old school but Rogers bass drums are amazing, best I’ve ever played. They have thin maple shells with re-rings, very similar to what DW uses today.
I’m intrested in the maple dyna reissues they’re making. Does anyone know where these drums are actually being made? Has anyone played one?
Hey sorry for delay in replying....the new foot pedal is NEW...similar but with modern improvements. I like it alot. check it out
