Powerstroke 3. Good all around head
No (Ambassador front/back, unported, on Camco maple 20"; double felt strips front/back...) but this seems to be very 'old school'. I've a Superlux kick mic fitted inside, for picking up the attack, and an external mic for the 'boom' (see avatar...).
But then, I'm old, you see...
I must say the combo of a 20" bass drum and a single ply batter is VERY different from the 22" drum and the double ply head I used before.
I used to play metal. I liked having some resonance so that the kicks sounded bigger during punches and fills, but not so much that there was no articulation. The hits need to be heard, but I hate that "clicky" bass drum sound that I hear in metal a lot. If I wanted coffee cans for bass drums I'd save money and use coffee cans.
I used a clear Powerstroke3 on my 22" kicks, with the ported Aquarian Regulator.
On the 20" kicks I had an SK1 with the Regulator.
The Remo Powersonic or an SK2 cut down on the resonance a lot more if you don't want any resonance, but still want it to sound like you're actually hitting a drum.
I'm sure Evans makes something you might like. I've used their EMAD and EQ3 stuff before and didn't like it. That's just me though.
