Below is a cut-and-paste directly from my band webpage....................
Drummer, RICHARD WILSON got his first set of drums for his 11th birthday and never put down the sticks. During his college years, RICHARD had the pleasure of studying jazz drumming and symphonic percussion under the tutelage of Paul Guerrero and Steve Houghton, both of which played for the great Woody Herman, and both of which also played in the famous One O’Clock Lab Band at the University of North Texas under the late, great Leon Breeden. While studying big-band swing and symphonic percussion by day, Richard honed his chops in the legendary Mother Blues and other fabled night spots during the heyday of Dallas rock & roll.
Throughout his multifaceted musical life, Richard has enjoyed teaming up with so many wonderful vocalists and instrumentalists, both for the live stage as well as the recording studio, and is especially pleased to be percussion support for ROCK CANDY.
With abundant seasoning and analysis, Richard produced his equipment assessment: “Gretsch USA and Zildjian — what else would I ever need ?”
Short and sweet:

There was no FB or Twitter, or internet (thank the powers that be) to put your resume up, so you were either good and built a reputation and got phone calls, or you weren't that good and had to make phone calls.
Mine;
"He's not a very good drummer. In fact, he kinda sucks. BUT, he's the only one with a pickup truck and enough motivation to book the gigs".
So accurate, it's scary, LOL.
:boom-crash:
"He's an a**hole, but he is a good drummer, so we keep him around!"
Just kidding!
At one point, my bio read, "He plays drums". Keep it simple. Nobody gives a sh*t, at what age you started and who your influences were. JMHO.
"At one point, my bio read, "He plays drums". "
Did anybody ever ask who he is, or was it 1 of those "Who's on 1st" things.
Thanks for the tips here is what I submitted today. "Been Playing drums for 12 years. also enjoys motorcycle's, drums, golf, drums, long walks on quaint beaches, drums, bird watching, and drums. Drumming got much easier once I realized drum sticks are left and right hand specific. "
Nah, it's pretty self explanatory
