^just confused on your choice to run that full rack bar off your hi hat just for the drum pad?
^ Haha its not a piece of rack, its just a 3/4" tube from a stand...1 hi hat stand, and 1 other stand to hold 14", ride and crash, 10" mounted on kick mount, as well as a cymbal arm..
People seem to either really like or really dislike the Salesman wrap. No middle ground. Put me solidly in the "like it" category. Nice kit.
yep had people come up and say man i hate that ,, im like cool you dont own it and i dont care lol
just a little 20 stage ride it washes real nice i like it
Thought I'd give the offset toms another try. I finally found a comfortable setup.

Just did a quick setup in the kitchen.

Lookin' fantastic, Dave!
I'm surprised at how much more "boom" you get out of Hydraulics on the Gretsch kit vs Tama.. must be the 30 degree rounded over bearing edge vs 45 degree. I can actually tune them up a bit higher on the gretsch without them going goofy on me. On the tymps I actually removed one of the layers so they're just a single-ply red head now
Yeah how did you remove a layer of ply?!
on one of my old bass drum heads the top ply broke so I ripped the rest off and was left with a single ply.
luckily.. on the 6' and 8' red heads BOTH plies were red colored... I've seen blue hydraulics that only one of the two plies was blue colored. So, being a meatcutter, I was able to get my knife edge slightly into the "meat" of the top ply without puncturing it.. and then lifted it away from the bottom ply enough to then make a small incision. I then stuck my finger through the hole and ripped the top play away. I used a wet wipe towelette to remove the small amount of oil and then buffed it with a microfibre cloth.
Just played a fun country club this eve! LOVING this setup. Just got this new PDP snare in today. I haven't gotten to hear it under a mic yet, but this evening, acoustically, it was freaking LOVELY.

/\nice!!
My Saturn 5's in deep water maple at a charity gig last Saturday. Also have a 14" floor tom which rarely gets an outing. I've just gone back to 2 up, 1 down, although I'm pretty happy with just a 4-piece for most occasions. Attachment 14399
