I love my Pearl Eliminator...very solid. I agree with everyone else, though--mid/top level stands from most makers are good. I have a Tama on my second kit that's good, too.
No, it was added by one of the previous owners. I'm watching an couple auctions on the 'bay for 10" & 14" that match this kit (without the tribal tat). I'll have to look around & see if I can find...
So I take this kit to my show this past Friday, and when the guys in the band saw it, they insisted that the kit used to belong to their old drummer--the guy I replaced. I haven't checked into it,...
they're decals. Done pretty well, too.
lol I think I did...but he was selling it because he had just gotten a new one, an absolutely gorgeous Session, trading a bass and amp that he never used. They were worth much less than the kit, and...
I've been told that at GC, also. Really put me off. I was ready to buy a snare at a different GC, but the guy acted like he didn't care if I bought it or not. So I didn't. There are a couple guys...
So I've picked up a few things over the last couple weeks. The store where I teach got in a nice big tote of Pearl boom stands. The owner didn't want to go to the trouble of putting them all...
I have two IC's & they're great (along w/ a DW5000 and a Pearl Eliminator, all doubles, all really good pedals)! If it's in good shape I'm sure the IC will serve you well. That said, I always tell...
wow....sweeeeeeeet
My current fav is the Joey Jordison. The bass player in one of my bands loves it & always wants me to use it, and I got so used to the smaller 13" there that a 14" feels too big.
I love my...
I have a Pearl Eliminator hat stand...two legs & very solid. I love it!
Just wanted to post an update about this kit, now that I've been using it for a few months. I ended up getting a 10" rack & 14" floor tom for the kit. It took a couple months, and they had changed...
I may have gotten my OC kit before they signed the exclusive deal with GC (I picked up an Avalon kit in '08) but as far as as "custom" company like OC making lower priced kit, it makes sense. They...
Crispy!
Seriously, I love these hats...brighter, louder, & more definition vs the Evos. I've only played them at rehearsal, but tomorrow's the show & I really get to lay into them. Can't wait...
eBay...I've picked up every one of my cymbals either on the 'bay or at pawn shops. They're just too expensive to pay full price. That makes it easier--and better--if I end up not liking one; I can...
My love for Sabian AAXplosions are well documented, and ever since the Cymbal Vote earlier this year I've wanted a set of the hats. I hate paying full price for cymbals, so I've been scouring CL &...
My most recent show a couple weeks ago with my (original) Christian rock band, Jacob's Well. Played 3-4hrs & you could feel everything coming together as the night progressed...the owner of the...
I played a gig on someone else's kit a few weeks ago & he used the springs. I hated the way the cymbals flopped & rolled around...it just seemed unnatural. Watching him play, I think he used them...
Ooooo I've almost bought that several times! It's been on sale at GC here a few times...def tough to resist!
I was going to pose this same question...I use EC2s on my OC kit (maple) and Pinstripes on my Crush (birch), and both sound great in the studio and at practices, but when I get to the gigs--most of...
I have one straight and three boom SP stands--all bought used--and they've held up just as well as the Tama, Pearl, and Ludwig stands I have. The only thing I could say about them is they feel a...
This is the main reason I don't buy wood tip sticks very often--the tips always chip, leaving one side flat. I continue to play them and turn the chip up, but they just keep doing it, all the way...
I've used a rack set up like the pick below for several years, but I'll also use stands. Racks are nice b/c they setup pretty much the same every time and it's easier to fit several cymbals (and...
Once it warms up I almost always play in bare feet. During colder months it's socks and sometimes shoes.
