i have two 16x20 bass drums and I love the balance between punch and focused tone. Not sure i'd go shallower for my taste unless i went up to a 24" BD.

I also have several stanton series. the trash crash in particular cuts like nothing else :) also my 20" wide ride is my primary crash and i love it. thinking about the 22" at some point but it will...
i finally bought mine, sold my maple custom absolute to get it, couldn't be happier. started for a couple of weeks with extremely low tuning as i gauge a quality snare by its ability to tune down,...
Added another cymbal....its getting hard to fit them

There is a Maple Custom Absolute ASD-0105 5.5x14 Vintage Natural on eBay that ends in a few hours. trying to decide if i should bid on it......
bid....only to be immediately outbid....how much is...
last time i spoke to michael vosbein he mentioned nothing about the oracle series, its too new of a series to go so quick. you sure its gone?
mine too, but you might want to read the first post rules for this forum before a mod sees.
with 12 and 14 yes i tend to tune in 4ths. but if it was say 24, 13 16 i might tune in 5ths.
they do not as of yet offer a power glide speed cobra.
i start with the floor tom and work my way up. reso first, then batter to same pitch then adjust down to correct sustain for my taste then tune in ascending 4ths.
how bout reso inexplicably high and batter whatever my mood suits?
at home i have a 6piece with 6 rides and a double pedal. at gigs though i prefer a 4 or at most a 5 piece with less than 4 cymbals. i guess i prefer easier load in.
formula maple means, maple and..... :) and i agree, vintage emps sound great on my new classics
tama sells power glides at least 50 to 1 over the rolling glide, but i am right there with you. interesting to note that the speed cobra is in fact a lightened version of their rolling glide cam and...
by being broke....
and i thought i liked big cymbals!
i can make a crappy one on my iPhone next time i remember.
thanks, its a constant work in progress
The "crashes" are actually mostly thin rides. i think all of the cymbals mix well as they are distinct pitches. i thought it'd be weird having so much on the left side, but i've gotten very used ...
okay. just checking. I hope they make a 19,20,21 regular production, i love mine.

while i definitely agree that he didn't originate them, he really made them part of his style. they aren't called "rich triplets"
I own the drum. It's amazing.
