The lugs have issues - they're not just duller, they've got wear and oxidation, which is my primary issue.

Anyone know where I can find Ludwig lugs? I'm looking for new lugs, even if they're knock offs. I'm trying to get the thing to look brand new...
If money were no object, I'd buy back my first kit:

I've got to stay out of drum shops. At least for a little while.

I'm probably in the minority, as far as I can tell, but I love the red hoops. And that wrap is fantastic. What a beautiful kit.
Picked these up cheap yesterday. The heads are dead, but even with that, they sound decent, looking forward to getting EC2s on tonight.
I played this kit in high school (these are made in Taiwan...
I'll probably just use Remo Ambassador reso heads, never done me wrong yet. The toms are 10x8, 12x10, 14x14, 22-inch bass. The head on the front of the bass is actually a batter head, I'll replace...
Tuned up, not too bad at all. Really great tone, just like I remember. Tuned up really easily, too. Nice low-ish sweet spots on all of them.
I can't wait to get new heads on them, putting EC2's...
This kit was made in Taiwan. The one next to it (which was $50 less, but included a snare) was made in China, and there was a clear difference in quality (though both still had the full length...
I actually went to buy it there at lunch today, when I found a slightly newer Tama Rockstar kit, maybe a couple years older, including a stand and a floor top, for $200. My brain got to confused, so...
I've been using an older Ludwig Accent kit in my band's practice space (not
mine, owned by the brother of the bass player), but the owner wants to
use it, so he's taking it out of the space.
So,...

It helps a whole lot to be physically fit.
Most of my life, I have not been. By then end of a gig, I'm usually sweaty, tired and sore. But in 2012, my mom died of a heart attack at 57. Big wake...

I never play for free.
I've got a few thousand invested in just my shells. Another few thousand invested in cymbals. Then there's the cost of my rack, and all the stands. My electronics. ...
Not today, but last night.
Played Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg, IN. Went over really well. Tough gig to secure, and I got word that they're going to want us back.

My doubles are slow, always have been. I'm always working on it, and seem to be getting faster, but still slow. My drum teacher will play doubles (or any rudiments, really) so fast that you'd think...
I've thought about that, but haven't played with it yet. Might be a good use for some older crappier splashes, though.
I'm looking for something like the Sabian Chopper. Something like a trashy white noise sound with a super fast decay - almost like a closed hi-hat, I guess. I'm probably going to pick a Chopper up...

That Roland H1 kit has always looked cool to me.
It's pretty inexpensive, sounds decent, and has a very small footprint.
Not that there's anything wrong with that...
Yep, I can.
Buddy Rich did a lot of that stuff. He had tons of stick tricks and twirls, and all sorts of "gimmicky" stuff. He was pretty famous for that. He had a lot of flash.
A drummer...
