    Re: Warranty

I would assume that you "deserve" the warranty unless meinl specifically states otherwise. I know sabian bends over backwards to replace cracked cymbals from obvious abuse, so I would hope that meinl...
  2. Re: The right cymbal finally came along

K Dark Thin crashes are probably one of my favorite cymbals that zildjian makes. They are fantastic, versatile, and dynamic. A customs are good as well, but for a more specific sound. In the end you...

Re: New PDP 20 ply snare

I don't understand how this drum is under $200 at all. PDP had to have cut corners somewhere.

    Re: Evans heads

The EC2's are definitely comparable to remo's pinstripes. Anyway, for the reso I'd just suggest something that is 1 ply. I use clear g1's, but the resonant black would get the job done as well and...
  5. Sticky: Re: Post Your Bird's-Eye View/Driver's Seat Kit Pics!!

Haven't been too active here lately, but here is my most recent set-up. Ditched the 4th crash and went back to 3 splashes. I moved my ice bell on top of my china cymbal (far right in pic) and so far...

    Re: Cymbal Stand Dilemma

Both are great stands, but I'd give the nod to the pearl 900. Those stands are very thick and study, very adjustable and have a gearless tilter. I use one for my 21'' ride and the stand does the job...

Re: Does anyone own a ZXT Total China?

If you don't want to pay 250 per china, just buy them used. As long as it is in good condition you won't have any problems and you can get the exact sound you want without compromise.

    Re: Beaters

I use the felt speedcobra beaters from tama. My local gc had 2 of them in stock one day and i decided to buy them and have loved the decision. Very nice.

    Re: I wonder.

Are they both used? If so I doubt it. There would give you around 200 for those pedals combined. Used eliminators can easily be had for <200, and even dw 5000s arent that hard to come by. If they had...
  11. Re: PDP blackout or Joey jordison sig snare

JJ. It is a great sounding snare as long as you can get over the slipknot logo's plastered all over it.

    Re: Older Crashes..Hammering?

Age doesn't dictate bell size, rather cymbal type and intended use play much more of a factor. Also, an A custom thin crash weighs <1200 grams , so the weight isn't abnormal by any means.

    Re: drumstick tuning

Sticks are pitch matched when they are packaged. Thus, there is no need to do this. I'm not even going to read through 3 pages of nonsense.

Re: Catalina Maple Drum Head Choice?

1). have someone play your drums and listen to them from a few feet away. You'll be surprised by how less resonant all of your drums sound. Also, you can detune your reso head on your floor tom so...
  15. Re: Best alternatives to 2002 cymbals at a lower price point?

Yes. You'll find them used for around 1\2 price of what they cost new. So for the price, you are getting much more cymbal than you are buying cheaper cymbals new.

    Re: New drums!

Congrats! Nothing like the feeling of new drums. As for heads, I'd go for the coated g2's. I feel that they are warmer than their clear counterpart, and have a warmer tone overall. Plus the...

    Re: Pearl snare I.D.

Definitely not a pearl, nor a premier. Budget style reproduction is my best guess, the cheap strainer is a dead giveaway.

Re: Did I get a deal?

If you can post some better pictures of the front and back of each cymbal, as well as a close up of the logos/stamps, it will make an accurate identification much easier. Based on the lathing that I...

Re: I need a snare that is more quiet..

Play lighter? Playing less rimshots will cut down on overtones as well. Birch is actually a pretty controlled sounding wood compared to maple/mahogany and then metal drums. If you think that a wooden...

  22. Re: What drummer/song got your drum interest going?

Tre Cool of Green Day played a huge part in my interest to learn drums. I remember I would spend hours just playing along to Green Day songs trying to play with the same energy and intensity that Tre...
  23. Re: My Chemical Romance drummer steals from band!

Does this mean I can be the new drummer for MCR now? :icon_mrgreen:

    Re: Suggestions for video cameras.

Re: Coming Close To My Birthday..

Maybe just ask for more cash? You said that you are going to be buying a new kit at the end of the year, so any more money you have will just give you more options for the type of kits you can afford.
