    Re: Decent Jazz ride?

A 20" Zildjian k dark ride can be had fairly cheap compared to other cymbals of comparable quality. Definitely work a look.

    Re: BUNCH of drum stuff.

Oh no not one bit! I'm trying to pay off some college debt so I'm getting rid of everything except what I use for my band, which includes me using some cheaper hats and switching the 22" Kerope for a...

  5. Sticky: Re: Post Your Bird's-Eye View/Driver's Seat Kit Pics!!

Just played a fun country club this eve! LOVING this setup. Just got this new PDP snare in today. I haven't gotten to hear it under a mic yet, but this evening, acoustically, it was freaking LOVELY....

    Re: More versatile ride??

I'll put in a vote for the 22" Zildjian Constantinople. Only had it a few weeks but I've already taken it through many different genre's worth of gigs and it has sounded prime for each and every one....

    FS: 22" Meinl Sand Ride

I'll get pictures up in a bit, but thought I'd get this posted now! Lovely cymbal. I'd love to get $300+shipping but am open to haggling. Not looking for any trades :punk:

I'm very much a two-ride guy. Sometimes I keep 'em a bit lower, sometimes a bit higher and angled. It's really about however I'm feeling that evening!

    Re: Holding the drum sticks

I'm in the camp of "if it works for you, do it."

....however I am also a very big proponent of a great/proper stick grip and what it will enable you to do down the road as your hands get better....

Re: 14 Floor tom and more, is it enough?

14 is more than fine. It might take some really, really low tunings to get them low sounds, but it'll definitely suffice.

    Re: Versatile snare around 250

I think a Ludwig Acrolite would fit the bill very well. It's a metal snare and one of the most trusted and reliable snares in all of the world of drums. With patience they can be found sub $100.

  15. Re: New Ride(s) day! Zildjian Kerope & Constantinople

It has been about a month now of playing this new setup and thought I'd give a bit of an update.

    Man o man o man.

    Re: The House Kit................meh !

As long as I can use my own cymbals, snare, and pedal, I will GLADLY use a house kit/share drumsets with other bands if at all possible. This heavily leans on the fact that I'm lazy/I can do without...

  18. Sticky: Re: Post Your Bird's-Eye View/Driver's Seat Kit Pics!!

I've got the 22" medium. I give more of a review in the cymbal forum.
  19. Sticky: Re: Post Your Bird's-Eye View/Driver's Seat Kit Pics!!

I don't think you could find a better cymbal for that. I currently use it the most for a pop/bluesy singer songwriter and it is utterly perfect. Been doing a lot of singer-songwriter stuff over the...
  20. Sticky: Re: Post Your Bird's-Eye View/Driver's Seat Kit Pics!!

This is before I got my new hihats (16" A and 16" Constantinople) but I've been playing the smaller Ludwig kit almost exclusively lately and I love it! Sounds killer with the stock tom heads and the...

    Re: playing slump

Definitely know how this feels. I think I feel it the most when I start comparing myself to other drummers. What usually helps is just reminding myself that I've practiced well, I've prepared well,...
  23. Re: New Ride(s) day! Zildjian Kerope & Constantinople

Alright I've had them for over a week, played a couple shows with them, and had multiple rehearsals.

I'm in love! I feel like I've been in love with every new cymbal purchase, but this one "feels"...

    Re: Constantinoples or Keropes?

I have very recently got both a 22" medium Con and a 22" Kerope.

I love them both so, so much. If I had to pick one... That'd be hard. And it'd really depend on the music. The Kerope is softer,...
  25. Re: New Ride(s) day! Zildjian Kerope & Constantinople

I only got to hit it pretty softly, but I totally agree. Such a lovely sound!
