You know what guys I'm not being biased and I haven't seen all his videos but have seen many. This gretsch is the nicest sounding kit he has played on. Don't shoot me down please just my opinion....
Thanks Bish, it's hard to keep track of all posts with a busy schedule. I'll check it out
Guys, not sure if this has been discussed but mike johnstone has just switched to gretsch. He did it very professionally too!
Not sure but I do know that trad grip does help my matched grip control when I switch over. I'd say it would be for the same reason whatever that is!?
Nice one Marko! Kit looks great. Bet you the guys in the band love the new skin!
Very nice, Bish. Looking forward to seeing the set up
I have a 18inch alpha rock crash in my set up mixedin with my bosphorus golds. It fits in nicely and is great in a live setting. Have recorded with it also and sounds sweet.
Thankyou all for your comments.
Thanks PB, yes it is steel.
Just my opinion but this thing leaves the joey jordison sig snare which is the same size, for dead. And half the price!
PS,...
Thanks guys not sure what I did but I think it worked
Try again...

Hi guys thought I would share this. My new ddrum golf ball snare drum. 13*6.5 inch. I put a power centre batter and hazy reso with puresound wires. This thing is loud and tight. Cuts through nicely....
Thought so but just wanted to make sure. I've been tuning lately more than I ever have and coming across things that im just not sure of. This helps, thanks
Once the drum is tuned to your liking, does anyone ever notice that there may be a couple of screws that are not tensioned as much as others. I just fine tuned my snare and notices when looking at...
I personally think it's about being comfortable with the sub divisions. Slow it to 50 even and while keeping time with hats ride etc play between quarter, 8th, triplet, 16th and 32 nd then back down...
Guys I worked it out. Firstly the nut washers were the plastic ones which had rough edges going into the screw slots on the hoop. I changed them over and secondly a couple of the washers on the...
64%. This is probably why it takes me so long to tune!
Just bought a golf ball ddrum snare. 13*6.5 inch. This thing sounds sweet and for the price. I paid 235 AU. Put a power centre batter head and 300 reso and with pure sound wires. Im struggling with...
Do any of you have an issue with one screw taking less turns to tighten then the others? I have had three snare drums and they all seem to have had this issue. Can a slightly out of round hoop cause...
No wobble on batter side of drum without hooP. Slight wobble with hoop
Well Friday night that just past, so did my snare. Came home after the set and unpacked the car. Was in a hurry to take my mum home who was babysitting my two little ones. Get back in the car, she...
Ok there is a slight wobble without the hoop about 1 mil. This is towards the snare bed on one side. also changed the reso head and the head fits snug in the hoop but overhangs the drum about 1 mil...
I bought a ddrum snare today. The golf ball 13 * 6 inch. Nice sounding snare. My only issue is that both hoops have a slight play in them when the drum is sitting on a straight surface ie about 2 mil...
Just getting to intermediate. I never talk myself up bit that's just me. I think people need to be realistic about their level. It's like these guys that have been playing for 12 months and are...
Makes sense about trying to achieve the same noise levels contributing to the strain. What approach to the acoustic kit are you suggesting?
