Agreed INDI, it's all good.
Don't take my opinion as criticism in any way -- I believe every drummer should have the set that makes him feel like he has the kit that is best correlated with his...
Yes -- its worth it..............but there is a problem...............
Why pay $5K for a USA shell pack that someone else custom-ordered ?
I can do very well with less than $5K walking into...
Congratulations on the purchase -- beautiful drums.
I've always been a fan of wood finishes; those Gretsch drums look great to me too...............is that the Savannah Sunset ?
I'd make an offer...
Nice !
The black chrome hardware looks pretty good with that finish.
Both of these new acquisitions are beautiful.............congratulations.
Proving again that the smaller lugs look better.
+1
Your main snare is a piccolo ? (I happen to like those a lot).
And what is that specific Tama double pedal in the photo ?
Yes.................those do look nice.
A friend of mine that plays in a competing band here in town has a set of white Performers exactly like yours.
On a small tom like that, it gets much worse.
With the hanging hardware and the lugs, you see very little shell finish.
Not to whip a dead horse..............but I must say...............
Those smaller lugs look SO MUCH better than the oversized lugs on the Collectors Series, IMHO.
Yes.............and a good reason to make sure your port is near the bottom of your reso head.
A buddy of mine here in town just got one of those.
Very nice shells.................and loud.
WOW -- very cool.
I'm using a 16X18" floor now and I love it.............see below.
I agree all around with your depth choices -- toms and bass.
The road trip to pick up a new set sounds...
Many congratulations.................2-up, 3-down ?...............rack ?
Hello AJK :
Have you seen the new dw slogan ?
Drum Workshop -- That Great Gretsch Sound
Just funnin' you.............welcome to the board,
Richard
With the exception of snares, I have never owned any wrapped shells.
WOW ! Beautiful.
Those DW shells have a finish that is so perfectly attractive that it makes me not notice the superfluous lugs they use.
Sparkly - pretty..............
Strictly in the context of "Comparable Value" or "For the Money" :
Among all DW offerings, The Performance Series looks like a great purchase to me...........if you can find sizes you want.
Very nice CCD.............love the wrap.
I appreciate the smaller lugs of the Performance series.
Back in the 70s, I purchased everything at a large music store in Dallas -- the "drum guy" would sell anything they had (or could order) for 60% of MSRP...........during that time, the drum-makers...
Yes -- PM me.
I used to live below you in Dallas and Arlington, BTW.
Seafoam Monster ?
What are you ?............a freakin' octopus ?
(or just another Mangini ?)
