    Re: Pro-Mark Project 151

Slinger - There's a noticeable difference between the two - the FBs are heavy up front, and almost feel like playing with a metal stick. I've always like the VF's in their lightness in hand, which is...

Yeah pretty much! You had to answer a bunch of questions and as I'm doing so I'm thinking to myself there's no way they'll pick me.... Crazy!
  9. Re: Uni Assessment - Opinions on different types of woods used in drums. (PLEASE REPL

These are the words that come to mind:

Maple - Warm, light, thin shelled, resonant, versatile

Birch - Hard, loud, bright, rock

Mahogany - Thick, low, deep, warmest

    Poplar - Birch plus...

    Pro-Mark Project 151

Anyone hear about this? They were looking to 151 beta testers as a campaign to promote a new line of sticks. On a whim I applied, and got this email today:

    Re: Epic Drumming Photos!

A ridiculous amount of speakers! This picture doesn't even show the curved stacks on the left and right stage uprights! I only wish I was in the crowd when we played - heard it sounded AWESOME.

  13. Re: Hardware Case (Trap Case for the old timers)

So a wheel busted on my SKB case and I needed a solution for this past weekend's gig at the Grand Prix. I went and bought a wheeled job box at Home Depot - $70 and it holds everything (and then...

Re: Cymbal Cleaning, What do you use thread.

Wallyworld, $5 or so a can. You can pick up the same thing in most music stores/online. It's gone by many names over the years - Buckaroo cymbal cleaner was the last "music" can I bought. But the one...

Different strokes is all. I'm in your camp - I want the bright glassy shimmer, the sustain and sweet voices. I'm not a fan of the dry dead dirty clank.

Nah - I've gotten so used to it over the years. I just found out the stupid rod is only a $10 part so I'll probably buy one to hack up.

Thanks guys, It IS alot of fun, and so stunning in person!

Doesn't show the finish very well, however I was finally able to get a good angle on the kit last night!

  24. Re: Drum Kit & Rack Hardware Cases or Covers

I have the Aheads- while not hardcases, they are nice and thick and do a great job keeping things from getting beat up. Heads up, they are a tad oversize if you go off dimensions. I ended up with a...

Re: kick drum head question (batter side)

I've used Powerstroke IIs and the newer Pro, along with the EMAD. I loved the coated Powerstroke Pro. It's very damped - I have no need for internal dampening with it.
