  1. Re: Does anyone have to cover their drums for sun (and dust) protection?

I'm not sure a V-kit would look so good with the same "aged" effect! ;) Probably just greyish on one side ...
  2. Re: Does anyone have to cover their drums for sun (and dust) protection?

It is almost a shame to cover them, they look much better as is ;) I'm not so worried about dust, it's the sun since they're sitting in a conservatory. It brings a lot of light into the house, so...
  3. Re: Roland sound modules - is it worth the upgrade?

Will do thanks .. much learning to do first :)

I can sloppily do lots still, but muscle memory and timing have gone to hell over 2 decades of tapping my knees instead of drums! Time to go back to...
  4. Re: Does anyone have to cover their drums for sun (and dust) protection?

Yeah, don't mean to sound snobbish about bedsheets, but it ain't gonna wash with the missus! ;) The kit is visible from the lounge and some random shape with a bedsheet on it just isn't gonna work :(
  5. Re: Does anyone have to cover their drums for sun (and dust) protection?

For me, it's home use only currently. I have it in an open conservatory (as in, no door, so temp from the house doesn't let it get too cold/damp in the winter) by windows with net curtains on them. ...
  6. Does anyone have to cover their drums for sun (and dust) protection?

If so, what do you use!? A bedsheet looks too horrid and probably won't block much sun, but a bespoke cover might be OTT.

What's normal? Or do y'all just keep 'em the hell away from sunlight!?

  8. Re: Roland sound modules - is it worth the upgrade?

I got the TD-15K in the end - surprisingly, the frame was the thing that made the most difference! It's a lot smaller and less adjustable on the TD-11 kits. I'd say frame first, inputs second,...
  9. Re: Roland sound modules - is it worth the upgrade?

Thanks for the feedback. Interesting idea with the VEx stuff .. might have to look into that once I get used to the stock kit!

Gonna try both kits very soon and see if the bigger frame, better...
  10. Re: Roland sound modules - is it worth the upgrade?

That's what it looks quite a bit like on paper. Hard to judge as a couch-jockey! :drumset-3:
  11. Re: Roland sound modules - is it worth the upgrade?

I'm buying my first e-kit, so no upgrade cost to worry about, just the initial wad to throw down! ;)

Extra sounds aside, does it integrate any better with the drums themselves (eg. faster reaction...
  12. Roland sound modules - is it worth the upgrade?

TD11 vs. TD15 drum modules .. equates to about £280 (~$460) difference between the TD11KV and TD15K full kits. It seems that, and a slightly bigger stand are the only differences.

    Of course,...

NW London, UK. Just getting back into drumming after a 20-odd year break and buying an e-kit in the new year to keep the neighbours happy! :punk:
