Just picked up this kit. Always wanted a Gretsch Renown kit. New old stock - sat on a shelf in the store for the last 2 years. Has the old Gretsch badges, old GTS tom mounts and a discontinued color...

How do you like the off-set pedals? They've tempted me in th past but I was afraid they might push my hats too far out to the left. I like them tucked in close to the snare. Is that an issue?

What is that cymbal mounted on the kick?

Makes me think of the Blues Brothers movie when they played a honky-tonk and the stage had chicken wire around it from floor to ceiling to protect the band from flying beer bottles.
