Re: Got a new hardware bag

I have a Roadrunner rolling bag that's long enough (50") to hold the hi-hat. I thought it would be great, but turned out to be a royal pain to lug around and handle. The cymbal stands are not as long...

    Sticky: Re: Tama Drums Discussion

I'd have to say that's one of the most beautiful finishes I've ever seen. I love the badges as well.
  3. Re: Sugardaddys - Third gig report - this might be the last one.

My brother's ex wife was that way. Her behavior got progressively worse. Then one day she went too far and assaulted him in his sleep with a cast iron kettle. I was seriously worried for his safety....

    Re: Playing with another drummer?

Kinda creeps me out in an odd way.....
  5. Re: Sugardaddys - Third gig report - this might be the last one.

Honestly, if that's what goes on in public, you can imagine what the guitar player goes through behind the scenes. I think you'd be doing him a favor by letting him go as well. To allow him to stay...

    Re: My family Life Update

    I see TWO awesome things;
    1) a beautiful family
    2) a father/husband who recognizes and appreciates what he has been blessed with....and conducts himself accordingly.

    The fact that you're a...
  7. Re: Sugardaddys - Third gig report - this might be the last one.

Wow. That's insane. Sounds like someone is off their meds, LOL. I didn't realize you guys had a girl singer or that she was a band wife. You're too experienced to put up with that stuff. I'd say,...

    Re: Aftermath

I'm a little nervous myself. Our "go to guy" who plays rhythm guitar, lead guitar, lead vocals on half our songs and fiddle, is getting His hour cut at his main job. He started working weekend...
  9. Re: Question about Tama Superstar Classic hoops

You could try some 2.3mm triple flange hoops from Gibraltar. They're good quality and pretty inexpensive. I've never tried S-hoops, but always wanted to. Regardless, I think they'd be an improvement...
  10. Re: Question about Tama Superstar Classic hoops

That's not uncommon, even on new drums. I'd need to see pics, but if the tension rods themselves are angled out, then the lug casings do not set out far enough to be in-line with the hoop holes and...

Re: I hate when that happens!

Never had that happen, but it would suck. I just got a pair of Steve Gadd sticks. I love 'em...
  12. Re: Looks like a new band is forming around my parts

Nice! I like the Tommy Lee effect in the last pic. I could never play upside-down....it would aggravate my acid reflux....:boom-crash:

Re: Good Drums -- Bad Sound

I think a lot of it depends on the heads and tuning. I've gigged with a 8/13 combo and a 10/13 combo. If you tune the 13"FT about as low as you can get it...just on the edge of that "flappy"...

Re: I installed a new shower today

I might have opted for an L-rod/ball setup.....just for easy adjustments :icon_mrgreen:
  15. Re: Killer line up for the King Biscuit Blues Festival this year

No, it has to do with a long time running radio program in Arkansas. It was sponsored by King Biscuit Flour Company.
  16. Re: Anyone remember my horrible singer stories?!

Hate to see that happen to the other drummer and guitarists, but people like that (the singer) never learn. They just stumble through life, screwing things up for everyone they come in contact with....
  17. Re: Thank You Moeller Technique !! Now I feel better about the Traditional grip .

I don't care which grip you used, I loved the video. :) !
Great song, great playing. I noticed you do very similar fills on that jump Blues/swing beat and off-beat accents on the snare that I...

Re: Adding a New Floor Tom

I also think with a 12/13/16 kit, adding a 14 would be too close in sound to make a 6pc. An 18 would fit better if you play all 6.

However, a 14FT would allow you to configure a 1up/2dwn kit in...

    Sticky: Re: Ludwig Drums Discussion

LOL. Maybe, but I'm 2" short on depth for the 16" FT. I'm gonna use suspension rim mounts and hang the 14 & 16.

Re: PDP Concept Direct Drive Pedal Review

Wanted to get into more detail, but it wouldn't be a fair assessment until I put it in action. Things always seem "great" at first. I WILL say this; I was worried because the on-line pics make it...

PDP Concept Direct Drive Pedal Review

I couldn't resist. They only sell for $119 and they had a 15% holiday sale.

It arrived yesterday, so all I've had time to do is inspect it and mess with it for about 20 minutes. First impression;...

Re: Got to assemble 10 new kits

It would be different to set up & tear down a kit without 5 guitar players crowding around you....and in the middle of the day and not at 1:30AM surrounded by drunk people, LOL

Re: Got to assemble 10 new kits

That's depressing news about the Keystone X. I was looking at those the last few weeks. I like the red oak hybrid...and that yellow glitter looks like it would be sweet.

    Sticky: Re: Ludwig Drums Discussion

I'm stoked! just picked up a 16x18 Ludwig floor tom for my project kit. I over-paid a little but couldn't pass it up. The chance of finding another circa 1971 18", 3ply w/clear Maple...
