Re: Another Pearl stand bites the dust !!

On the left is the old bushing , broke , and on the right the new one . The new one has a bump where the other had none . So I hope this prevents these from breaking like the old ones .
    Keeping my...

Re: Another Pearl stand bites the dust !!

So the parts came in just now from Pearl . I must say ... I was not expecting all this ! There are enough parts here for four stands . They even sent me the smaller bushings for the top tier .
    I...

  4. Re: Thank You Moeller Technique !! Now I feel better about the Traditional grip .

WoW . Another one of my posts turns into a "one upman's" thread .
All I was talking about was the Moeller Technique . I didn't think it would get to the point where would be slapped for sharing an...

Re: Another Pearl stand bites the dust !!

I know Yamaha does . I've had to get replacement parts from them without any issues . All covered under warranty . Same thing as with Pearl , no questions asked and parts were sent quickly through...
  6. Re: Thank You Moeller Technique !! Now I feel better about the Traditional grip .

I know several working drummers , who make way more money than I do , who could care less about the traditional grip . Playing professionally with drum endorsements and such . And I was just fine...

Re: Another Pearl stand bites the dust !!

The first time I went to Guitar Center with the first broken one I was told that the stands were warranted for life . The second time I went direct to Pearl and was told the same . This time ... no...

Re: Another Pearl stand bites the dust !!

Just an update : I got the e-mail from Pearl apologizing for "any inconvenience this may have caused" and are sending a few to my address . So all I can hope now is that they send me the right...
  9. Thank You Moeller Technique !! Now I feel better about the Traditional grip .

So back sometime last year we started having to play smaller clubs and had to bring the volume down . So instead of "buying" specialized equipment to play softer I just taught myself to PLAY softer...

I saw that the family has started a Go Fund Me campaign . Apparently they need funds to properly bury him .
I always wonder what they do with their money . I for one have that part already taken...

Re: House kits. They are funny sometimes.

I wouldn't consider myself a "cork sniffer " and I don't care what the " marketing executives " have to say either . I've heard some high end pricey cymbals that were just as awful . I currently have...

Re: Another Pearl stand bites the dust !!

Here's what the bushing looks like (broken) outside of the cup . You can see where the plastic failed . All the bushings are failing in this manner .

Re: House kits. They are funny sometimes.

Keep in mind these are "theater" drums and that sometimes nobody plays them but are used as props in skits or plays .
They got a new sound guy , Vince , and he and I were lamenting what they had...

The first time this happened I went to Guitar Center . It took them over two months ! But that's because they kept changing managers . Seemed like every time I went they had to put a call into Pearl...

Re: House kits. They are funny sometimes.

I did a gig where they had the Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute in that beautiful purple stain . On closer inspection the snare was a cheap Maxwin chrome snare ! Six lugs and one of the lugs was missing...

    Re: Floor tom placement

A tom on the left , if you play righty , is cool . You can put your coffee cup and extra sticks on it towel and...snacks .
