I honestly don't know how well my set stays in tune per the DD. I tend to tune a lug or so by ear then use the DD to even out the rest. I never bother to remember the numbers after that.

Great find PB! Congrats!
Get the splash. If you're torn between an accent cymbal or a double pedal, chances are you still have room for improvement with a single.
Whatever you do...just keep playing! :boom-crash:
Hate to say it, but that name already has some mileage on it. In fact, I used to run sound for a local act called Midlife Crisis back in the day.
Apparently, there's others out there:...
I ran sound for Edgar Winter once, and mixed a local band just outside of a Doobie Brothers show. My 2 minutes of fame..thank you very much. :punk:
Gorgeous! Love the green color!
I found some noise isolating tips for my iPod earbuds that I use most of the time. Other than that, usually nothing...although, I'm thinking that my shooting ear plugs might be worth a try.
Very nice sounding snare. Thanks for taking the time to produce and post this!
Hey, another great bookmark! Thanks!
Very nice set and sound advice. Thanks Gretschhead!
Wow..those are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing the pics! :love3:

Let the fun begin!
+1 on the pedal. For videos, check out Vic Firth's site..they have some really good stuff.
Definitely some great hardware out there! Many of these kits are inspiring...think I'll go lock up my wallet now. :icon_razz:
If you're going to use a key, be very careful not to hit your bearing edges as it will dent them pretty easily.

Thanks for the welcome, Pastor Bob! I understand your position as I moderate for another large forum myself. I look forward to spending lots of time chatting with what seems to be a great group of...
2009 Imperialstar Noob here! Pinstripe batters on all the toms and an Ambassador on the snare, stock bass heads and resos all the way around. I'm far from a pro, but once I got these things well...
Yeah, it took over a week to have my account accepted by a moderator, now my posts have to wait as well. I wanna talk drums! :boom-crash:
Edit: My posting in the birdseye post was tagged for...
My noob kit! 2009 Tama Imperialstar with Meinl HCS cymbals. I'll eventually upgrade, but I think it's a pretty good starting point and they sound great once tuned properly.
