  1. Re: If you could have a private lesson with a legend who would it be?

    If I had to pick a "legend", I suppose I'd go with Charlie Watts. Mostly because I think I could relate to his style better and get more out of it than I would from someone who's very technical/busy.
  2. Re: If you could have a private lesson with a legend who would it be?

    This is an easy one. OK...maybe Hannah Ford is not a legend, but I'd sure enjoy and remember it

    Re: Buddy Rich Drum Company

    After a quick internet search, it appears Cindy Rich started up the BRDC and they started making them with DW in the PDP factory in Taiwan. After a short while, there was a falling out. Cindy then...

    Hope I don't sound like I'm dis'n on my PDP Maple Concepts. They are excellent quality drums that sound great. The PDP's run $729 for a 5pc (including snare). The Luddy Centennials run $1199 for the...

    I really hate to install the factory heads. I don't have enough money left to buy good heads, so I guess I'll have to do it.

    Picked up the kit today. Had enough time to do a quick once-over inspection for damage and quality issues. So far, so good. There was a hole in one box (14"FT). When I took it out, I could see a VERY...

    I've heard that even after repeated requests, they still refuse to play Freebird.

    Yep. That type of marketing reminds people of this kind of stuff;
    14020

    They could have been top-notch, but people who buy top-notch don't subscribe to that type of marketing.

    Sticky: Re: So what drum related stuff did you do today?

    Had the second practice tonight as a fill-in drummer for another band. Played all 35 songs again. It went much better now that I've heard all the songs once, LOL. We'll have one more practice before...

    I have a PDP Maple kit that would fill that empty spot on your rug nicely. OR.....maybe a vintage Premier kit in Black Shadow?

    I couldn't gig with them this weekend anyway. It's an outdoor beer garden and the stage is barely big enough for all 6 of us to stand on. It will be a tight fit even with my jungle kit. The steel...

    The new Centennial kit showed up today. Can't beat a 2-day free delivery! I had them shipped to a friends business 50 miles away so there would be someone to inspect and notate any damage before...

    Re: Earning a living

    That's kinda my dream as well. About another 15yrs and I'd like to cut back to a part time job, play music on the side and build/repair drums and guitars when time allows.
