Sweet!
Amazing Luddy, Snake Pit
Hey Gang! Been a long time since I visited Drum Chat...
This kit is an absolute gorgeous girl. WOW!!!
BTW... I need to buy 22" wood hoops for my Vistalite resto project. If anyone knows someone selling a set, hit me up in PM's or even offline email or Facebook.
I've not had the pleasure to compare them side by side, which is the only real way to do it so variables as temp, humidity, and room acoustics are as controlled as possible.
With that said, Ludwig...
BTW, I just ordered a pack of Remo clear Emperors today.
They are going on my '77 Ludwig Vistalite.
Pics when they arrive...
No attachments. They slowed the server down to a halt. Hosting site only.
Scotty G, that "rack tom" is a floor tom... ROFL!
Awesome kit.
I love my Ludwig Vistas. I started cleaning and restoring the hardware on them witha good white vinegar bath, but I have no $$$ for new heads and the wooden 22 front hoop that I need. Otherwise...
Those were killer.
Wow.......... That is insane. Green Vistalite's are one of the most rare colors, plus a set in that size AND condition.... OMG.... I'M GREEN with envy!
Those are gorgeous.
I recorded my band's LP with it years ago. We tried doing the indy thing like Boston did, but the business was different then. That kit has such a great sound.
Luddy did re-release them, but I...
This kit used to belong to my drum teacher years ago. It's a 4 piece (no matching snare). He traded it for a clear 5 piece set with a 24" kick and the snare. Man that kit was awesome.
I said to...
They're a smoke vistalite, blue olive badge. My research online suggests it's a 1978 model
That's awesome Kona! I think I'm gonna get my Luddies from my brother's house and start a resto job on them.
You've inspired me.
Hi John, Welcome to DC. I have a Vistalite kit too. MIne's a smoke, though.
It's not the year, my friend... it's the mileage! :icon_mrgreen:
That's a sweet kit paicefan
That 26" kick drum is sooo col.
I read since posting that above that it was a mahogany poplar blend.
That's what I thought. I hate it when they're all mysterious like that.
Those 26" bass drums look so awesome.
Anybody know anything about the accent zep set? Specifically shell material. It seems to be part of the accent family, but it's not on ludwig's website anymore...
Mmm, jellybeans.... yummy! My smoke vistas need some resto work or else I'd have them pictured.
