I've been away for a while

I'm just now getting around to posting more. I've been very busy with university and all. But of course, I still sat down behind the kit many times each week. But it's summer now. Time to relax and...

    Re: Got the gig

Congrats. I like outdoor playing. Mainly because you don't get that crazy echo from the drums. Btw, how are you liking those b8x cymbals?

Re: Small problem with floor tom.

I had some similar bearing edge damage on my ludwig floor tom. I sanded it down a bit around the spot. Never fully got rid of it but tuning isn't an issue anymore.

Re: Didn't make it to nationals.

Oh well. If you have fun playing the drums what's the big deal. I only started to love the drums after I stopped competing and finished drum exams.

Neil peart's trademark ride pattern. You can hear it on spirit of radio, red barchetta, he usually plays quarter notes on the hi hat with his foot while keeping the beat with his right hand and right...

Re: Need touch up paint for my snare.

I highly reccomend watching rdavidr's video on YouTube about his acrolite. I think he went over cleaning the actual shell.
  17. Re: Bought a ludwig acrolite snare drum today.

Love watching David. I'm still looking for an acrolite here.
  18. Re: If you could only have ONE cymbal which one?

My Sabian HH 21" raw bell dry ride. Lots of stick definition.

Well. That's a pretty good trade! He's a cute little guy.
  20. Re: $1600 for signed Tool drumheads...seriously?

No way I would ever pay that much. However, if it were a signed bonham head, well we would have to see the price.

Re: Sabian Chopper: Anyone have one?

I've always wanted one because I like using splashes as accents, but the sustain is too long, and I don't have the right cymbals for a stack. This looks perfect for what I do but it's the price...

    How would you clean this?

I'm still not 100% confident cleaning the brilliant finish. Any ideas how you would?

Re: New A to E conversion

Very nice! I've always wondered. What do you use as a reso head? I noticed you're using the Roland powerplys. If I were to buy a set here in Canada, it would cost more than my whole kit.
