I'm eligible for military retirement...but still going! currently at 23 years. Of course, that's the reserves, so I won't be seeing that money for another 15 years or so. My 3D artist job is still...
Nice playing! Consistent and fast! Wish I could play that fast for that long:)
Neil Peart. And I think it was 81 when my folks bought my first kit (13th b-day). My brother had gotten a bass for his birthday and we naturally fell into the Rush crowd:)
Then it became all about...
2 pair of Vater 7A nylon tips. Wood tips sound better initially on the cymbals, but don't last long...that's why I use nylons tips.
In my opinion, what matters most is how often and consistently you practice. You can learn from a teacher or on your own, but if you do not practice a lot, you will not develop your skill. I really...
Love it!
too cool. Love the vids:)
Costs nothing more to insure them on my home insurance as it's all considered personal valuables (per my insurance agent)...at home. Now, my equipment leaves home, that's a different story. So I have...
I use EC2 on maple. Used moongel then, like drumstix says, messed with tuning the reso heads unti lit sounded good without the gels.
I tune the reso's a little tighter that the batters by the way.
I do backing vocals while playing. Love to sing!
Slinky, well, the studio is our own. So we don't "pay" for it:) But, yeah, my fault for my own drum snake having a faulty cable. We actually tossed around the idea of just using the bad channel to...
That's awesome! Love the storage idea.
Um...how do you play with those huge sticks? :)
Marko138 and inthpktplayer: I used to go back after every song, then I heard something that changed that. An engineer asked this drummer (after tracking a song) "How did that feel?". The drummer...
You all win at coming in second...
but I win this one simply because it ups my post count!
7064...just my opinion though.
Itchie, our setup does indeed use MOSTLY the overheads, but I like to have the control per tom for certain parts of the songs. We actually thought it all sounded good without the mic, but it wouldn't...
I have the reciepts for all drum related purchases...even sticks!
That is an awesome setup. Must have been a blast to play that show!
Love the little skelly with the bone drum set the best. Where did you find that, Drummer?
So, we mic'd the kit up and started tracking songs last week. There's a total of 5 songs. After the first song went so well and sounded great on playback (we always play back to check the...
well done Birdie!
Pretty amazing clinic in Denver last night. I was really inspried by how he crafts his patterns and pull from every day art and structure...and his philosophy on "pegging the CPU" really clicked....
I'll be at the one in Denver on the 21st. Very excited.
I used to have a Roland TD-12 kit. LOVED it. Sounded great, played great and I was able to "expand" the kit by splitting the triggers (doubled the kit size). Played live gigs with it too...fun times....
