    Hi folks.

I was a fairly prolific poster here between 2011 and 2015, I still stick my head in from time to time to say "hello".

    Hello!

Happy new year to you all.

Re: Kit you've had the longest?

I also came across a photo of them in my apartment in 1992, when I first bought them.

Re: Kit you've had the longest?

These days this kit lives where my current band rehearses. I bought this kit in 1992, so it will be thirty years since I brought them home. (It's been a long time, but I'd guess that I bought it in...

    Re: Possible Dream Kit today?

That is a stunner for sure!

    Congratulations!

I used to own a 1981 "Drop-G Badge" kit. In early 2009 I contacted Gretsch about making a 14" floor tom to match my kit. When they heard that it...

I did this for years and years, I broke myself of it about twenty years ago at the recommendation of my dentist.

Re: Chicago Drum Show a GO

I had a late rehearsal Friday night, stopped for something to eat and didn't get home until one thirty in the morning. Saturday I got up and scrambled to get my weekend chores done.

Re: 24” bass drum for small kid ?

    I used a vintage Slingerland kit once a week for years, it was a 13", 16", 18", 24" setup. I'm 5' 6". (I'm a small kid disguised as a sixty year old man.) lol.

    It was never an issue.

  14. Re: My wife and I just returned from vacation.

I just got a call from Pittsburgh Drum Exchange. My Gretsch USA Custom 13” tom, 18”, 20” & 24” bass drums and 14” x 6 1/2” snare drum all just arrived to the shop. I’m going to pick them up tomorrow!

    Re: Super Bowl LIV

My wife was born and raised in K.C. Although she moved away after college in the 1970s, we were rooting for them. It was a hellava fourth quarter comeback.

Yes, that is the same door.
  19. Re: My wife and I just returned from vacation.

I didn't order anything, but drums that I already had on order were in production while I was there. (Which is pretty cool!)

Those are great deals. I lived in DC and then Richmond for a while eleven years ago. I bought a LOT of gear during that time period. :) Congrats!

Re: Gretsch Stanton Moore snare drum

I do. From 1992 until 2008 a 1970s Gretsch stop sign badge 4160 chrome over brass was my primary snare drum, actually it was my only snare drum.

In the past couple of years I've played more gigs...
  25. My wife and I just returned from vacation.

We jumped in the car and headed south. Charlotte, Charleston, Savanah, and... Ridgeland.
