    Awesome Gretschhead!

I really love Bosphorus cymbals. There's really not much else out there that even compares.

I agree EM, the Turks really know what they are doing when it comes to cymbals.

A little more Turkish eye candy, just purchased this 16" Turk Series "Paper Thin" Crash 900grams.

I'm really impressed with my new Turk series hats, amazing chick, dark raw open hat sound, nice tight controlled sound, just excellent! Excited to pair them up with the new Turk crash!

Another nice pick up Gretsch. I'm pretty sure I had that one on my Ebay watch list.

I found this one on craigslist and got the seller to ship it for me, not sure if he had it up on ebay or not. I got a pretty smokin deal on it . Should arrive tomorrow, will give a review when it shows up.

I picked up a 20" Masters ride a few months ago. I paid $200 for it in excellent condition.

Awesome cymbal, I would definitely jump on it.

What kind of music do you generally play? Does yours have rivet holes?

Jazz influenced. I do lots of break beats and odd time stuff.

No rivet holes. It's a very thin cymbal with a lot of wash. It would probably get out of control with rivets in it. I can't decide if that's good or bad though.

The one that I am looking at has holes for rivets but no rivets in it currently...
I was curious f it came that way or if the previous owner put them in (it is on consignment at a store)

    It could be either way.

I wouldn't be deterred from buying it because it has rivet holes in it. It's almost better because then you have the option of easily trying out some rivets in it.

Thanks for the input...I think that I will go for it.

I agree, I sometimes wish that I had the option of rivets, infact I'm probably going to add a 21" or 22" ride with rivets, I'd really like to add a Turk Flat ride with 3 rivets. You can get a package of 8 Bosphorus rivets online for less than $5.

Hopefully I will get the cymbal by the end of the week. I looked at rivets online today...most of the online stores charge $25 to ship the darn things...ridiculous. A local music shop chages 50 cents a piece...I think I will pick some up after my cymbal arrives...

drummer_chick, you will love that cymbal. Having the rivet option will add to the versitility, add a few as you go to see the response. I have a 20" Turk and a 21" Masters Vintage. I use a small chain hanging from the mount to pick up sizzle for some Jazz groves.
I am jealous of Gretsch, that crash he found is what I am looking for next.

My Bosphorous 21" Master Ride arrived yesterday. WOW is it ever thin..I like the sound a lot. I have a hard time describing cymbal sounds. I just know what I like. Looking forward to getting the rivets into it to see what is sounds like with them (they are on order)

I now have 3 ride cymbals....a 22" zildjian from the 70's that I got with my kit...very heavy thick rock ride can cut through the loudest electric guitars...(it is not currently on my kit...too loud for playing at home)

Zildjian K Constantinople 20" high bell thin that can play everything and now this bosphorus...

I think that I am set for a while...
