well at least u know wat to work on. Ya definately get dat left arm workin. My left arm isnt as strong as my right, but its gettin stronger. Second, try to get da cadences if u havent already, as well as all da music for da drumline. Another thing to definately keep in mind, know your rudiments. If you dont know wat those are, here are some examples:
Single stroke :R L R L R L R L R L
Double stroke: RR LL RR LL RR LL RR LL
Paradiddle: RLRR LRLL RLRR LRLL RLRR LRLL
Double paradiddle RLRLRR LRLRLL RLRLRR LRLRLL RLRLRR LRLRLL
Flam taps (flams are both hands): flam RR flam LL flam RR flam LL
flamadiddles (these are tricky. Im still workin on these): Flam RLL flam LRR
an something else: Ruffs are a double stroke on one hand an den a single on another: like dis: RRL
Ur also gonna want to get ur accents right (da trick is to place da accenting arm higher)
an rim shots are hittin da rim AND da head AT DA SAME TIME.
To get softer, go toward da edge, to get louder, go toward da middle.
Technique: make sure to keep ur hands in a 90 DEGREE ANGLE an KEEP UR DOUBLES OPEN an anythin else ur drum instructor might want u to do.
Another tip: u might wanna work out, even if you can carry da drum nice an easy, still do. U dont have much experience.
AN GOOD LUCK!!
Ps. I hope dis post helps
