    Cool pictures from the studio.

As some already know, we are in the studio recording the rest of our album. My drums looked like they were hooked up to life support or something.

I snapped a few pictures to share with everyone, the studio is awesome and very comfortable. Everything that we just recorded is mind blowing, it takes a long time to edit everything but the rough music is absolutely awesome. The DW's have new heads and fresh tuning, and they sound excellent when they are at their prime. All of the Paiste alphas sound great also.

    enjoy!

Cool pics DD, so I've never been in the studio, how do they do the tracks? do they record all of the guitar/vox and then feed it to you through the headphones with a click?

I would probably have to write down all of my fills to keep em consistant otherwise i would just be throwing in whatever felt right at the time

and what is with the huge subwoofer lookin deal on the boom stand in front of your kick drum?

I like the homemade subkick mic. Awesome. I have a question. How is the hh coming across in the mix? Great setup looks like a lot of fun.

thanks for commenting fellas, it was very fun indeed.

Quadcam, usually they record the drums first while the other band members are playing so we can get the drum tracks down solid. you are right about the click track with the headphones, but we did the process a little different with no click track. and we chose to kill 2 birds with 1 stone and record the guitars/bass/samples while we recorded the drums. the vocals were done separately so we could all sit behind the mixer and judge the sound.

we got the drum tracks, guitar tracks, bass tracks, and samples in 1 take per song. we never messed up, we just went through alot of practice only playing those songs before the studio is why we were able to do that.

the mix is mind blowing, i feel its the best i have ever recorded.

also answering Quadcams question- the 8" sub woofer in front of the kick drum has it polarity reversed, which makes it a microphone, and it picks up the super low end of the kick so the tech has more options for kick drum sound.

not sure by what you mean "hh" nucjd, please specify and ill do my best

a couple more pictures i snapped, the first pic is cake's gold, and platinum albums because this particular studio was responsible for the recording of their 3 albums.

the second pic is the main mixer board, the red lights in the background mean there is a recording in process.
