I like playing alternative metal. Not the kind where the lead singer is screaming in the mic and you don't have a clue what he's saying. I do play some rock, like Nickelback.

well i believe jazz is the music because it makes u express ur inner ability istead of just playing with ur strength just like rock players, we jazzist play with inspiration. Actually i also play in the church and i also try to mix African beats with jazz and this is one great fusion that makes u visit heaven. Jazz is THE MUSIC!!!

But i also like drumming to punk and quite a bit of rock. i also like drumming to metal.. although I'm not good at it (so much energy) i love it. annnnnnd i like some of the slow stuff by christain bands like Hillsong, and Delirious, as i am one myself.

I like playing anything from jazz & blues to metal, I am really getting into more of a Latin style of drumming though, it has such a great feel and sound to it, and it is really different from other styles I am used to playing.
The only kind of music I just can't get into is country, country to me is just very basic and boring, anyway there is my take.

i suppose you might bring some value to country. i'd have to get an equalizer to turn down the banjo and vocals though lol

The person who created the banjo should be shot, no just kiddin.
But the banjo and the whinny steal slide guitar are what kills it for me.

Ever hear of Bela Fleck? I'm not a country guy, but I love the banjo. Maybe you could broaden your horizons a bit in light of your new hobby? Anything musical done well is worth respecting, even if its not what you love. And some day you might need a gig....
