Do you clean your cymbals after every play? Or did you just buy that set of Custom A's?

The line between the real world and the machine world is becoming more and more blurred every day.But its not that humans are turning into automations or becoming slaves to the machines. No, we're simply growing toward each other!

They are all used except the 10" wuhan splash.
The 18" Oriental china was a display model that Mike Mangini played during a drum clinic. The 18" fast crash was a display model. The others were used but in great shape.
I cleaned them with a metal buffer just before the photo shoot. I used to do the same thing years ago and then it's much easier to just go over them with a mild cymbal cleaner once in awhile.
kinda picky when it comes to used gear tho!

The buffer really makes the Wuhans look nice!
I use something similar to this

..yep, and a 'new hole in the head' that comes along with it. I'm close to pulling the trigger on a Gretsch USA Custom 4pc. in Ebony laquer finish. 8"x10", 8"x12" 16"x16" floor tom and a 18"x22" kick. I recently bought a demo 6.5x14" USA snare in the same finish so I'm building a kit around it lol!

Oh yes I can. Remember, I've talked about getting a Mapex Saturn kit. Four things keep going through my mind whenever I consider it: 1) I like my Gretsch Catalina Maple kit, and it was my first good quality kit. I hate the thought of giving it up, but I don't have the room to keep it, if I get another kit, and I would need the money from it in order to move up to a next level kit. 2) Do I really need it, or am I just giving into marketing? 3) Since my Catalina kit is a 2007 model, it has 45 degree bearing edges, and no Silver Sealer. With that in mind, should I really consider myself a true Gretsch guy? 4) I've never heard a Saturn kit for myself, although my former drum teacher was a Mapex endorser and she loves her Saturn kit. She also thought that I would love it.

All these things keep going around, and around, in my head until it nears exploding. Then I just have to stop thinking about it again, until the next time the Mapex Saturn pops in for a visit.

That really was a tight fit! How was it to play with that configuration?

I'm 6' 4" and wear a 36" sleeve, so I found it easier to play the big tom as a 2nd row rack than in floor tom position. I did set my throne a little higher and closer than I usually do and that had the unexpected benefit of giving me better posture and less back stiffness at the end of the night. I considered putting a gap between the 10" and 12" toms in order to bring the 14" tom closer to the snare but that turned out to be unnecessary.

Embalmer - man your set up is so similar to mine. It never feels big when I sit and play, but damn it looks massive!

Agreed. Mine has a large footprint, but the bulk of it are the cymbal stands and accessories. I like choices!

Maybe there's a zipline that runs overhead and you release a latch to drop down in?
