Well, if my family hadn't settled in Australia, I would have been born in Newfoundland or Quebec....two places in Canada that had offered my Mum a nursing job when she graduated from her nursing course at the North Middlesex Nursing College, U.K. in the late 1950's. Mum had only changed her mind because my grandfather had already been working out here on a contract with British Oxygen. Otherwise she'd have probably settled in Montreal, as her French at that time was pretty good....there were quite a few Breton girls in her course that she was friendly with, and she did some formal study. And my French isn't that bad as I sometimes keep it up jamming with West African and Mauritian musicians here. Also, we've a few distant relatives in Canada....I know that at least one relative, Neil, is still in the RCMP, although I haven't spoken to him for a little while. So I could have been a Newfie or Quebecois, lol.

We are doing a wedding in Cambridge that night, lol. I will bring both the hammered brass and my new 6 1/2 ludwig. I am guessing the hammered will be the one I pick to use anyhow. I am pretty sure we did this room before, I know I played upstairs a few times, but I seem to recall doing the casino floor once, it was a little bar section and the stage was more the size for a duo, so the band was pretty cramped.

Merci Ricky mon ami. Qui sait, un jour, j'ai peut-être en mesure de voyager au Canada pour voir certains gens de la famille. Si je le fais, j'y retournerai très certainement faire un voyage spécial jusqu'à Montréal pour certainement "hang out" avec toi.

Hi all, 1st post. I'm in Yukon, but born and raised in Cape Breton, NS. Have been playing off and on for 24 years; got my 1st kit when I was ten.

My tubs, which I inherited from a friend who inherited them from another friend who was moving out of the territory (kinda the way things go around here), are an old (early-mid 90's I'm guessing) Cosmic Percussion set. Made in Taiwan. They were pretty rough when I got them, but after ordering a lot of new parts and heads, they're looking and sounding good. The cymbals are all relatively new.
