OK..fess up guys. I know you've got those little gems... you know the ones: often overlooked, seldom thought about. But we all have those pieces of gear that bring eternal joy to our lives...yes, I'm talking about the best pieces of gear you've ever bought!
Mine are: A DW Bass Drum Pillow and a Tama Drum key (see pics)

    Drums... That's how I roll!

Oh yeah! Saved me many hours over the years. Think of your tool ratchet for undoing bolts. Same thing.

I'd have to go with some of my new hardware.

    Mapex Hi-Hat Stand

It's not the top of the line one, but with the rotating leg assembly it's a huge upgrade from my 23 year old Tama.

Next up is the Mapex Snare stand, which is top of the line.

This thing is awesome, most adjustable snare stand I've ever seen.

The adjustability of these make getting my setup just right a breeze!

My best drum investment is my Tama Diamond Plated Snare Drum.

However, for the money, it would have to be this drum key for 5 bucks :

    I've got 3:

    1. The rack was important in helping me find the right position for everything on the kit.
    2. The DW 8002 pedals were an amazing buy, and a significant upgrade.
    3. The Ludwig throne was a chance find, and it is amazingly comfortable.

Of course, all this comes second to the Gretsch Catalina Maple kit itself.

at the risk of bringing up a silly debate, i've gotten a lot of use out of my drum dial. ive been trying out a mess of different heads, and it gets me to a set point quickly.

I'm really happy with my DW5000 Hihat stand I bought used in a Guitarcenter in California, when I was there 2 years ago. I paid $100, at the time €75 for a stand that you pay €200 for new here in Europe, and it was and still is in really good shape!

Oh yea. Hands down, the Nitro throne is the best purchase I have made. Easily worth the dough I dropped on it.

Ok, review on the pillow please (that's kinda what the pillow on my bed looks like after a late night trip to the local taco shop and the subsequent restless night that follows...).

Also, what is so special about the key? Besides the fact that it looks awesome (which by most standards would be enough...)

My Yamaha 900 cymbal stands. They were so cheap where I bought them but they are top of the line Yammie's and are super strong. I've put on a 24" ride on there before and it hasn't even wobbled. Love 'em and would definetely buy them again
