    Default Pictures of Crazy Kits.

Okay, so I started the thread 'Pictures of Beautiful Drum Kits' and thought that we needed somewhere for all of those crazy drum kits out there - The weirder the better. Whether its some of the crazy set ups from 'Craigs List' that some of you guys in the US speak about or insane colours of kits from anywhere else, whatever it is, if its weird post it hear and lets see 'em.

I'll start us off, this is a kit that was on another website where drummers could post pics of their kit, this is from Alex, from Kansas City Missouri:

    Crazy!!!

[admin note: see also the funny drum pics thread]

These are or were made in Cheeshead land. Made of fiberglass.

I'm guessing they're pretty dead since I can see contact mics or triggers on them. Then again, I could be wrong.

Don't think that's a lid, looks like the frame from a large Roto Tom or some other spoked item.

I just realized that there are over 20 pieces of drum gum on that guys kit and he's using aquarian PIIs. Must like the "thud" sound. I don't even know if it could resonate to get a full thud maybe just an ud.

I suggest a listen to the King Crimson album, "Red". Bill Bruford uses a garbage can lid to great percussive and musical effect. It actually works really well the way he placed it within the songs "Red" and "One More Red Nightmare".
    No kidding.
