    Default Stagg Cymbals

I noticed that there wasn't a thread on Stagg. I was wondering if anybody had tried out any of their stuff and if it was any good. Unfortunately, Stagg doesn't have sound clips on their website and not many people have uploaded clips on youtube, so I have to go there myself to hear what they sound like. But that shouldn't be any big deal. There's a dealer within 45 minutes of where I live and road trips are always fun xD. But yea, general talk about Stagg. Maybe sticky this if there's enough interest?

The Staggs stuff I have heard is not really worth discussing, but those bells seem OK.

I think those Bells sound kinda cool. If theyre cheap, why not? Theyd be good for an accent, i think.

I have a 6'' medium stagg black metal bell. I love it, especially for how cheap they are relative to a zil-bel. It is a great accent cymbal, and extremely cutting.

They sound pretty nice tonewise, but really ringy for my taste. I guess if you can't afford Zildjian or Paiste..

I bought a set of 10'' mini hats I purchased for a psuedo coc ktail kit. They were pretty heavy for their size. Had lots of volume and didn't sound as trashy as I expected.

I think that sounds horrible, the EQing job is dreadful. Especially on the overheads. And if there's no EQ on them then I don't want to hear how those cymbals sound in person.

I have a double hammered 16" crash. It's alright, only paid £25 for it. I had a 10" DH splash too, which was really nice. But it broke.

Cymbals sounded great, but the drums were clipping hardcore. He needs to work on his mic positioning and EQ a little bit, especially if he's making videos as an endorser. Playing is real solid though, I enjoyed it.

He got endorsed before he starting micing his kit.

I purchased a Stagg 16" Doubled Hammered crash. It had a nice shimmering tone. I liked it very much. The price was comparable to a Sabian B20 in the same size. I would recommend it if you get a chance to listen one in the store. I don't think I would've ordered one online without listening to it first. Who knows, there's an 18" DH crash left at the store, too....
