    Exclamation ***Bass Drum Beater***

ok, so i have pancake style beaters that came with my pedals and ive been practicing to get quick double hits for fills and stuff and so far i can hit 32nd note doubles. Ive been practicing for a good amount of time now and i feel like i hit a dead end. i cant get any faster than i was 3 months ago. would beaters like the pearl eliminater pedals have help me increase my foot speed??

Also what kind of beaters do you guys recommend?
and any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks

Personally lightweight beaters are the best for me. On my old gibraltars i had put Pearl double sided beaters on it, and they were alright, and i think they were on the heavy side. Heavier beaters would help, because just like if you're working out, more resistance equals bigger muscles. In your case heavier beaters would increase foot speed because it would take faster, stonger hits to get 32nd doubles. Go for a heavier beater.

I hve been using the Pearl Eliminator for 3 years now and love it lots of bounce action etc. The good thing about these pedals is you can change the cam on them for different power and speed. I have the 4 sided beater on mine and have the choice of using different ones for different styles I play. Your foot has alot to do with the speed if you haven't achieved the speed with your foot then no beater will not do that for you. There are adjustments on pedal that could increase the speed and rebound . Experiment I guess hope this helped you a bit. I also read and heard that the new Pearl Demon drive is suppose to be the fastest pedal out there maybe go to your nearest music store and check one out.

Even playing nothing more then qucik doubles, 32nd notes at 150 bpm equals hitting the drum 1200 times a minute. Maybe it's time to just sit back and smell the roses? You're doing pretty good.
