    Exclamation snare drum bounce

    how do i put bounce in my snare drum. my snare is pretty tight but i just cant put bounce in it

    You probably need to replace the springs and shocks in it.

    How are you gripping your sticks? If you're grasping them much to tight, that may be your problem. The grip you use is all up to you, be it French Timpani Method, Matched or Traditional... Holding your sticks to tight in all these grip formats could be your problem.
    Just, loosen up.

    You probably need to replace the springs and shocks in it.

    On the serious side, I agree with PF and MH......if your snare heads are cranked tight, and you still get no rebound, it probably is your grip.
    Word to the wise : don't mess with the drummer.
