    Default Difference between pedals

Ive been looking into a double pedal for quite some time now, and have way too many options. I think i want a DW 2000 or 3000. I was wondering what the differences between these pedals are? I know the 2000s single chain and the 3000s double, but ive always felt more comfortable on a single-chain pedal and am wondering if the 3000 has any big features worth paying an extra $40 for.

I go to my local drum shop and purchase my sticks. I like to touch them before I buy them ;-)

Well double chain is durable and it'll last you quite a while. It's generally faster and smoother. Single chain is not nearly as durable, and it's not for speed demons or for really fast double kicks. It depends on what music you play and if you think you're going to get into heavier music and start playing that.
So itchie, how did the kick sound?

Well really all i want it for is so i have the option of a double should i ever get into heavier music. I would play it mostly as a single, as the music i play doesnt call for a double hardly at all. I was just wondering what other features the 3000 has, or if the only upgrade from the 2000 is the chain.

.......Er..... Nonsense. The double chain is obviously stronger, but my single chain has been on my pedal for an average of 6 nights a week, 48 weeks a year for 5 years now, and I'm not a light player! In practical terms, it has no effect whatsoever on speed, in fact, as it adds mass and therefore momentum and inertia, a double chain will be very slightly slower than a single.
