    Default Durable Colored Sticks??

I have been wondering what kinds of colored sticks you guys use that stay the color theyre supposed to longer. I have read about the white Travis Barker sticks peeling and am wondering if all colored sticks do this super quickly?

I go to my local drum shop and purchase my sticks. I like to touch them before I buy them ;-)

Painted sticks are awful. Stay away from them. All the paint ends up on your drums.

    And cymbals.

If anything at all, go with a stained drumstick. If you absolutely must have color, that is.

i can't stand painted sticks. i just don't see the purpose, and all the color ends up on your heads, especially if you have white heads like mine.

I wonder if painted sticks would effect electronic drums...what do you think?

i guess that would depend on what type of electronic kit you have.

Colored sticks don't always stain your drum heads, just the ones with the colored tips. My Buddy Rich sigs have a painted shaft but the tip is just wood. Looks really cool, and I actually prefer the smoother feel of the paint over the plain wood sticks.

It depends what you are playing as for how long they last. If you do alot of rimshots and hit the edges of your cymbals the paint will come off fairly quickly on the part you hit, but by and large the base of the stick where you hold it will retain it's color until you throw it out.

i would guess that the paint wouldn't affect your kit. maybe on the snare, if you have one of the v-drum heads, but probably nothing else.
