We grow old because we stop playing."
"I wish that my playing reminded people of Steve Gadd. But they seem to confuse me with his little known cousin... E."
"Snare drums happen."
Got this one from a couple weeks back which I quite like... Even though you can't see much of me!

From a few weeks back ...
Can't remember if I posted this one. But it's my favorite because the way the drum chrome shines....and the hat covers my grey hair, LOL

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham

Rich................I love the look of that classic snare drum with your ebony maples...............a very cool combo.
So you like the nylon tips too ?
After using various brands of nylon 5B for as long as I can remember (and the recent favorite being Vic Firth) , two years ago I bought a selection of Vic Firth nylon-tipped sticks in all types of weights and lengths just to see if the 5B was still the go-to stick......................but I wound up finding something I like better...............
I have been won over by the VF 3AN..............a little larger and heavier with a barrel tip.
Might feel like too much to many drummers but I'm currently comfortable with it..........................FYI.
Gretsch USA & Zildjian(What Else Would I Ever Need ?)
I tried 7 or 8 different pair................it took weeks to play enough with all of them to start narrowing down the selections.
A couple were too light.............two more were too long and felt awkward.
The 3A was something I had never tried in my life because I always thought it would be a Lincoln-log like a 2B or 2A.
The 3 (to me) is closer to a 5 than a 2.
Now, the 5 feels to small for me.
