Who is your Favorite Drummer? Don't know about favorite. There are many amazing drummers that I've never even heard of. I've witnessed some serious development over the decades and the number of styles are not lost on me.

Neil Peart has been a contemporary inspiration. First concert I ever attended was Cream with Ginger Baker. I remember the roadies nailed his set to the floor. I got to see Jon Bonham who did quite well for using 4 drums. A couple years after that, Billy Cobham impressed me. He was the first drummer I saw that really utilized the double bass. He was going a mile a minute and it looked effortless.

I decided to go with double bass and I'm really glad I did. Within 5 minutes I realized that I was a bit rusty but within an hour I realized how easy this will be once I train my left foot.


I spent a few hours just to get some basics down. Everything felt a little awkward but also very promising. Then I put some music on and really realized how far out of practice you get after a 30 year hiatus. This stuff was second nature to me and now I'm struggling with basic timing.

I think I'll be back in shape within a couple months and, the double bass kicks ***. Lots of sound with very little effort.
