    Exclamation Introduce Yourself!

Hey everyone, we've finally got a new member introductions thread. Don't ask why it took 5 years to create this.

    WELCOME NEW MEMBERS!!!!!

    Please let us know:

    • Your Name (it's OK if you want to keep your real name private)
    • Age

You've just joined one of the most popular, but more importantly, one of the most respectful drum forums on the net. If you haven't already, please take a minute to read the Forum Rules (It'll keep you from getting yelled at later. )... as well as the thread on Forum Diplomacy. And don't miss our infamous (and slightly twisted), Newbie Initiation Thread. It's fun! You'll love it! And stop by the Location thread to tell us about where you live.

I started playing young. when I was in eighth grade my parents ran a bar in San Leon TX and one night the bands drummer didn't show up. My parents mentioned me and I played that night. I did little Biker Bar gigs with them until we moved. in 10th grade I started playing with a band in Granbury Tx. and played in bands until a few years after high school, when I had to decide between making a living or playing in a band, and quit drumming.
I play other instruments (Guitar...) and was recording some stuff and decided I needed a drum part, next thing I know I'm back in it and wonder how I ever let myself stop playing.
My biggest surprise was how hard it is to resurrect the old skills.
In process of putting together an acoustic set, the Electronic are nice and quiet but, not exactly the same, and I hope to start playing out in the future.

Hello Everyone...I'm Bob Cianci, drummer, guitarist, music journalist and author. I came upon DC while surfing the web abd came aboard because it looks like a good forum. I live in northwest NJ, have been a working musician since the late 60s, and play with two bands, The Kootz, a very busy cover band that works 250+ plus gigs a year, and The Burgundy Watch, my band, in which I play guitar.

I have written for some of the major drum magazines and few guitar magazines over the years, and am author of the book, Great Rock Drummers Of the Sixties. I have also written for a few blues magazines, newspapers, and websites.

I look forward to being part of the group.

Oh my God, your name is familiar..did you or do you still contribute to Modern Drummer by any chance? Or the old Drums & Drumming magazine, the one edited by Andy Doerschuk?

Whatever the case, we would more than welcome your insight as part of this lil' group of ours!
