Never heard of them but I do like the idea of the non-marking wood tips. This is one of the reason why I only use nylon tips hate the wood tips for marking.
Anyone heard of or used these?
Blurb from their website...(*with sales jargon removed*)
First established in England in 1866, William Shaw And Co. is one of the world’s oldest established percussion companies...Their range includes some original British models such as the ‘C’ and ‘E’ range, together with more recent stick designs such as 5A, 7A, 2B and 5B etc...'Chops Sticks' are made from US Hickory, these sticks have a sleek black or white finish and feature non-marking wood tips.
I've ordered a pair of the 7A white Chops sticks (gotta love the pun) to hopefully arrive this weekend. I think they look pretty nice. Will do a review compared against my Zildjian and Regal Tip 7A's.

Where would one purchase such sticks?
I found them on Amazon (UK), they seem to be part of a larger group called the 'Music Shipping Company'. They claim very high quality standards and have a good write up in Rhythm magazine.

So they arrived today and check out the ridiculous packaging!!!
All for a pair of sticks!!! Shame on you Amazon.
Just about to have a jam with them so will post a review soon. First impressions are that they are massive! Feel very chunky, way bigger than my other 7A's.

Howdy,
So yea, these sticks are chunky, have a very slight taper which makes them tip heavy, shed their coating all over your stuff and are very loud. They are perfect for one application, loud and heavy hitting, and nothing else. Have to say they feel very strong so good for hard hitters.
Definitely a good addition to any stick bag but not a stick for all genres.
Cheers,
BWB

Soooo, when you say it " sheds its coating " you mean all the white paint? just comes off while playing..that doesn't sound good at all...from what I gather you just like the feel? right? and yes packaging a bit to much..big enough for a dozen pair.
Enjoy the Music!
