Vitek (RIP) from Decapitated. PERFECT drumming!

Steve Smith and Derek Roddy are phenomenal - I had the honour of attending their drum clinics in Rondebosch and Cape Town, respectively. The inspiration they gave me was off the charts!

Squeak....two classic Max Roach albums for me at the moment are "Saxaphone Colossus" (Sonny Rollins) and "Alone Together: The Best Of The Mercury Years" (Max Roach and Clifford Brown). Some in the early 90's I had the great pleasure of watching Max Roach's group perform not in the Sydney Opera House, but set up at the base of the steps and I got to watch him from the front row a few feet away. World-class player, sadly missed.
xWeasel mentioned a lot of drummers that I like (plus a few I've yet to listen to), but has anyone yet mentioned Bill Bruford?

+1....don't think I could list that many.....the only fans who ever said I was their favorite drummer were girls I was messing around with.....even though they wouldn't know a paradiddle from a triplet, still feels good to hear it.
