I've pouring over the lists posted here. Sooo many great drummers. Just can't really pick "a" favourite.

all the best...
Who cares that this guy comes across as more nuts than a trunkful of angry squirrels, and wears a KFC bag on his head? Check out his ripping version of Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher" (oh, and watch his other vids if you're ever in a down mood, trust me, his vid's will have you rolling about in 5 seconds!)
Check out his version of Motley Crüe's "Dr Feelgood"!
Oh yeah, he likes to rave on about other stuff...

I won't make an exhaustive list. My current favorite is Mike Portnoy.
He's not "the" most technical out there, but he's the inspiration for getting me into drumming again 3 years ago. I didn't grow up listening to Dream Theater when I had my Tama kit, so over the years and countless hours of steering wheel thumb drumming, I decided to buy a Roland kit and try out these crazy beats that I had figured out for the most part inside my head.
He's still a challenge for me, and I like that. Going to be practicing his parts for years to come.

I can't wait until KFC Guy stars in his own series of commercials, I am going to tape all of them.

Thomas Lang and Benny Greb have been huge sources of interest for me laately also.
Oh and Horacio Hernandez.
On a different note... There are so many of these favourite drummer threads, i think it's about time we got one stickied.

I have a lot of favorite drummers. Too many to mention. But if I had to pick a few I would start with Neil (no last name needed...lol) then Matt Sorum and Taylor Hawkins. The first based on sheer greatness. The latter mainly on their passion and attitudes. A lot of great one's out there.
