I was always partial to the sound of octobans and roto-toms. Seems like you would need them anyway for certain music like progressive or latin. I first wanted a couple to own when hearing the intro to Pink Floyd's "time", I was trying to do the part on my smaller 8 and 10" toms but it just wasn't the same.

Remo had the awnser for your idea. Years ago 82 84 somewhere in there they came out with a drumset that had hinged lugs. I had the catalog, it seemed kinda cool at the time and it was for the exact thing you are talking about. The catalog showed a black or stainless steel kit with the special lugs.

What about a vented throne? or one that has a water pillow top?

A water pillow top throne like a waterbed but it keeps cool instead of warm.Maybe a 6 foot fan inside the riser.

i gotta agree with the hot female drum roadie .... that drives me and my kit ,to and from all the gigs ,unloads,sets up, breaks down ,loads , then drops me off at home .. that shouldnt be too hard to find ? should it ?

I would just want drums in general (cymbals, heads, sticks) to be about 50% of the cost they are now. That's it.

I've seen some lights in spaun kits, and I believe sjc as well. As you can imagine they upcharge quite a bit for something like that, even though on paper it really doesn't seem that hard to do.

1 guy carries the kick with the mounted toms, a cymbal stand in each hand of the next guy, floor tom and cymbal for guy 3, snare and hihat for guy 4.

NR, yeah, you know that, I know that, ......but I'm afraid there are some bands out there that don't know that, pack their guitars up, walk off and leave the drummer packing...and all that time you can be sitting and waiting. And sometimes they don't want your hand in helping them get their gear off either. Rarely happens, but it can occur, much to everyone's frustration.

Tell you what I do want after a gig.

A decent takeaway spot to be still open when you've packed up and leaving the venue in the late hours of the morning. Can do with a decent chicken vindaloo at 2am sometimes instead if a fast food drive through.
