It's been a while since I've visited the old drum chat. What better way to return than with a thread celebrating the funk? If we have a classic rock thread, as might as well have a funk thread. Post your funkiest. I'll try and post things you might not have yet heard.

    Here's some 21st century funk:

I'll watch the other 2 later, but that Soullive Beatles thing was amazing. I've covered both of those tunes in a few bands and they are seriously fun. The little shuffle funk thing at the end of She's So Heavy was perfect. I'll be stealing that immediately.

Dumpstaphunk probably the funkiest band, would expect nothing less than funky from a son of the Meters.

Well if we're going to start using the adjective funkiest, I'm going to have to throw out some serious funk. I agree that Dumpstaphunk is one of the stankiest. I've seen Maceo Parker live twice, and he has one of the tightest groups of all time. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FR41cXuUfPg"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FR41cXuUfPg[/ame]

And then, if we're talking Nawlinz, I have an addition. the groove from 2:45 on just slays me.
