It was really late when I posted that. The second time I watched it I noticed that right away too.

Some great posts you've been throwing in there, Oli.....guess I'm not the only Bill Bruford nut around here by far.

Oh yeah, Bill can play out there, but he certainly can get a little funky too.

You're welcome Mr. Wright. and Drumbledore. My fave part is between 2:17 -2:54. Right @ 2:53 where the end of the strum of the guitar meets that bell of the cymbal. Goosebump material.

Bill with Jeff Berlin and Kazumi Watanabe:

King Crimson's "Double Trio" around the time they did "Thrak" and then the subsequent tour. Bill double drumming with Pat Mastelotto.

In one of the classic King Crimson line-ups:

Another Bruford fan here. His work in 73-74 Crimson inspires me most, but it's all good stuff. The guy was a real workhorse -- 17 years after first hearing him I'm still finding "new" groups that had the distinction of having BB behind the kit on their album or tour...

Some more 80's Bruford. giving a good explanation of one of his various Simmons set--ups.....although the rest of the MIDI stuff in this video is a bit twee (Rock School overall though was a cracking great show).

Being the last album posted on that book.."Gradually Going Tornado" came out in 1980, I'd say almost 30 years old maybe? Lots of cool info in those books Drumbledore.

Yeah I love all manner of vintage and collectible items, books being amongst those too, especially music and other arts.

This such a great video. Bill playing "Willowcrest" with The Buddy Rich Big Band.

I absolutely love Bill Bruford. In particular, his playing on "Perpetual Change on "Yessongs" and the "Close To The Edge" album.
"One of a Kind" totally blew me away! He is a master drummer.

I fell head over heels in love with Bruford's drumming from the first time I heard him. He made me rethink drumming all over again. He lost me during his Simmons days, but he made a wholly dedicated attempt to incorporate the electronic drumset into the mainstream of music.

And while you can immediately pick up on the Bruford style anytime you hear it, it was the tone of his snare drum that always distinguished his sound from any other. I'd love to know exactly how he made his snares sound so distinctive.

Bruford has definitely laid down some extremely impressive drumming. Definitely a fan. Also a distinct sound you knew it was him which I love.

One of my favourite drummers. Love his drumming on Larks' tongues in aspic and a trick of the tail.
