Reso Head

What sound does a tight Reso Head make, and what sound does a loose Reso Head make when you hit the Batter Head? I figure I know the answer to this, but I want to confirm with you guys.

If the Batter had a fixed sound.

Generally a tight reso makes it resonate more with a tighter attack and a higher note. A loose reso would make it resonate less with a lower boomy or thuddy sound. Is boomy or thuddy even a word? Depending on what a "fixed sound" means for the batter. You can bend your batter side above or below your reso note, so.......

If it's really loose you get a backlash like a sheet flapping in the wind.

to loose youll get the sound of it flapping like kay-gee said. Too tight your going to pop it, you may not be hitting it but your sending vibrations into it and its only a very thin head so you know, somethings going to go down

Hitting the batter with the res too loose results in a growling sound. Too tight gives me a dead ring.
